Rockefeller Institute's Saturday Chef series continues Jan. 8

On Jan. 8, the Win Rockefeller Institute will host a class in its Saturday Chef series with Chef Jason Neidhardt of Boulevard Bread Company.

He will teach you how to correctly prepare base stocks for soups from fish and shellfish, vegetables, mushrooms, chicken, and beef. You will learn how to prepare weather-appropriate soups using seasonal ingredients.

*Morning Class:     9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
*Afternoon Class:  2:00 to 5:00 p.m.

Art students recognized for graphic design cover

Three Arkansas Tech University students were rewarded on Tuesday, Dec. 7, for lending their graphic design talents to an important project for Arkansas Tech University.

Junior Vanessa Williams of Lawrence, Kan., sophomore Katelyn Ferguson of Alma and senior James Ruiz of Los Angeles, Calif. were honored for producing the top three potential cover designs for the Arkansas Tech University self-study for The Higher Learning Commission.

The self-study is part of a process that the university goes through every 10 years in order to maintain its accreditation with the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

Helicopter mural to be featured in Veteran's Day parade

This is the mural featuring a Chinook helicopter. It will be for the Russellville Veteran's Day parade and the ceremony to follow at 5 p.m.
