Arkansas Tech selected as founding institution for national program

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. (ATU)--Arkansas Tech University is among 12 founding institutions from across the United States selected to participate in a new program that seeks to increase graduation rates among American college students.  

The John N. Gardner Institute for Excellence in Undergraduate Education Gateways to Completion (G2C) program will allow faculty and staff at Arkansas Tech to evaluate student and institutional performance in lower division gateway courses.

Campbell, Little Rock Fashion Week's founder and executive producer, will produce the bridal fashion shows at the Unforgettable Bridal Fair & Special Events Expo on Sunday September 29, 2013 at the Pine Bluff Convention Center, located at 500 East 8th Ave. in Pine Bluff, Ark.

Brass in the Clouds Scheduled for Saturday at Mount Nebo

Musicians from Arkansas Tech University will provide an evening of entertainment at one of the Arkansas River Valley’s most beautiful points of interest on Saturday, Sept. 21.

The ninth annual Brass in the Clouds concert, co-sponsored by Mount Nebo State Park and the Arkansas Tech Department of Music, will begin at 6:30 p.m. at Mount Nebo’s Sunset Point. The public is invited to attend.

Groups scheduled to perform at Brass in the Clouds 2013 include the trombone, trumpet and horn ensembles from Arkansas Tech. Dr. Gary Barrow, professor of music, and Dr. Sean Reed, assistant professor of music, will direct the ensembles.

Mount Nebo State Park recommends that audience members bring blankets or chairs for seating comfort.

Fashion designers apply for LRFW 6

Little Rock, Ark. - Little Rock Fashion Week (LRFW) is accepting fashion designer’s applications for the sixth annual LRFW, which is scheduled for July 14-19, 2014. The application postmark deadline is October 6, 2013.

Founded by entertainment producer Brandon Campbell in 2009, LRFW has showcased over 85 fashion brands by local, national, international and student designers; been attended by fashion and entertainment executives from E! Entertainment, Style Network, MTV, NBC, Dillard's, Belk, Otis College of Art & Design (Los Angeles), Savannah College of Art & Design and Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising. Past designers have gone to have their clothing lines worn by celebrities and showcased at presentations during New York Fashion Week.
