BRYANT, Ark. - Bryant Schools have planned special events to welcome the district’s representatives and senators into classrooms as part of Arkansas’ Take Your Legislator to School Month.

Legislators plan to attend the following events:

  • Monday, September 21
-8:15 a.m., Hill Farm ElementaryRepresentative Julie Mayberry will visit a visual arts classroom andinteract with a Common Core math lesson. -10 a.m., Davis ElementaryRepresentative Julie Mayberry will discuss the job of legislators in theschool’s fifth grade classrooms. -1 p.m., Salem ElementaryRepresentative Lanny Fite will be part of a lesson on citizenship andreceive a tour of the school’s Wall of Heroes. 
  • Tuesday, September 22
-8 a.m., Bryant Middle SchoolRepresentatives Julie Mayberry and Lanny Fite will visit a ProjectLead the Way classroom and learn about music education. !-9:30 a.m., Bryant High SchoolRepresentative Lanny Fite will interact with student leaders on stopsin engineering, marketing, A/V Tech, science lab, 3D Design andpottery, and journalism classrooms. !
  • Wednesday , September 30
-10 a.m., Salem ElementarySenator Bill Sample will visit classrooms at Salem Elementary. “We want to build a stronger relationship between schools, local communities and elected officials to provide the best possible education for our students. The events we have planned give legislators an opportunity to observe the exciting and innovative things happening each day and provide our students the opportunity to meet and interact with an elected official,” said Superintendent Tom Kimbrell.
