Police identify person of interest in home invasions

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. (KTHV) - RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. (KTHV) – Russellville police are looking for a man considered armed and dangerous after two armed home invasions.

On Tuesday, police identified Christopher Hamilton as a person of interest in the case.

According to Public Information Officer Drew Latch, the home invasions took place on the 300 block of South Boston and the 1400 block of North Boston around 4 a.m. Tuesday.

Hamilton apparently entered both homes with a weapon while the residents were there and stole items from the homes in addition to two separate vehicles.

The Pope County Sheriff's Office said that Hamilton reportedly stopped a green 1997 Ford Escort and robbed the driver at gunpoint later around 7 a.m.

Police described Hamilton as 5'5" to 5'8" with buzzed blonde hair and several tattoos on his upper body. He was last seen wearing green pajama bottoms with ducks on them and a white tee shirt.

The Escort he is believed to be driving has passenger side damage.

PCSO told THV11 News that the Atkins School District has been notified of the incident, and students are being sheltered in place. It has not been locked down.

The Russellville Police Department has stressed that if anyone sees this suspect, they do not need to approach him. Instead, they should call 911 immediately. If anyone has information on either of these incidents, call (479) 968-3232 or the silent partner tip line at (479) 967-2221.
