RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. (USDA) — Ozark – St. Francis National Forests managers announced today that the Richland Creek Campground will be reopening Nov. 8.

The campground, located near Witts Springs, Ark., was closed for improvements, which included installing new site pads, improving access, and replacing old tables and fire rings.

“We welcome the public to enjoy the beautiful fall colors and feel the cool air around a campfire at Richland Creek,” said Tim Jones, Big Piney Ranger District.

The improvements were made with a grant from the National Forest Foundation. The work was completed by Forest Service personnel and volunteers from Searcy County, Arkansas Wildlife Federation, Arkansas Tech University, and the U.S. Air Force from Little Rock Air Force base in Jacksonville, Ark.
