Youth ages 13-15 are invited to take part in 2 fun-filled days and one night of kayaking fun on Lake Dardanelle.  The park will host a Kayak Campout June 22-23, 2012. 

This overnight camp will get kids out and let them enjoy nature and the beauty of the lake via kayak. We will meet at the visitor center Friday morning at 10 a.m. We will kayak out, set up camp, and discover some of the great things nature has to offer. Then we will break camp and kayak back in and will return to the visitor center Saturday afternoon by 1p.m. Registration for the camp will include meals, equipment, and instruction the fee is $75.

Our camps have limited space, so get your registration and fee in early. The latest you can register is June 15, 2012 (provided there is still space available).  You may pick up a registration form at the Lake Dardanelle State Park Visitor Center, or have it e-mailed or faxed by calling the park at 479-967-5516.

Lake Dardanelle State Park is one of the 52 state parks administered by the State Parks Division of the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism. The park offers two areas on 34,300-acre Lake Dardanelle. The Russellville (main park) and Dardanelle locations both offer camping, marinas, launch ramps, standard pavilions, picnic sites, restrooms, and bathhouses. Along with the visitor center and fishing tournament weigh-in pavilion, the Russellville area offers a barrier-free fishing pier and nature trail. Year-round interpretive programs are offered at the Russellville area.

To reach each park: 1) Russellville Area -- Take Exit #81 (Ark. 7) off I-40 at Russellville. Turn south, then immediately turn west on Ark. 326 and go four miles; 2) Dardanelle Area -- Go four miles west of Dardanelle on Ark. 22.
