Creative Conservation Day Camp

Creative Conservation Day Camp
Recycled crafts, outside recreation, and other fun stuff are to be had at the Creative Conservation Day Camp at Lake Dardenelle. Kids ages 8-12 can attend this camp from 9 am to 4 pm each day from August 1 - 3. Learn how to go green and keep the Earth clean. Your fee includes meals and supplies. RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. -- If your community is one of the 50 participating in the SC Johnson Green Choices Recycling Challenge, you could be eligible to help your community compete for a $100,000 grant for a sustainability project. Do you want to spend a day surronded by spiders? Probably not! But for those of you interested in arachnids, or have kids that are interested, this is the perfect place for you. This Saturday at 3:00 pm, Spider Hider at the Lake Dardenelle visitor center is a perfect getaway to learn about our eight legged friends. Find out what they do, what they eat, where they live, and even find out which ones are dangerous to us. This event is free, because no one wants to spend money to be surronded by spiders all day! Made from Scratch: Backyard BBQ

This saturday, take a trip to the Winthrop Rockefeller Institute at the top of Petit Jean Mountain for a few lessons in the delicious art of Barbeque. The Backyard BBQ Culinary class starts at 10:00 am and lasts until 3:00 pm. Instruction ranges from gas to charcoal grills and from aluminum foil to Dutch ovens. Exploring Nature at Night

Do you enjoy kayaking, fishing, hiking, and other fun outdoor activities? Come out to Lake Dardanelle State Park to experience some fun outdoor adventures! Explore many of the unique night time creatures that call Lake Dardanelle State Park home.

 This year we are doing a different time on the June Day Camp. The “Nature at Night” Day Camp times are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday June 13th and Thursday June 14th. On Friday, June 15th the time for camp is 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. so the campers can explore Nature at Night. Kid ages 8-12 are invited to join us for the “Nature at Night” camp. The camp includes activities, crafts, programs, and much more.  The campers will meet at the visitor center for each day of the camp. Lunch, snacks, and all materials will be included in the $65 registration fee.
