Arkansas Tech to Supplement Scholarships for Freshmen

Arkansas Tech to Supplement Scholarships for Freshmen

Arkansas Tech University has announced a plan to offer scholarship supplements worth as much as $1,000 per eligible first-time freshman during the 2013-14 academic year.

The scholarship supplements are designed to help individuals begin their studies at Arkansas Tech despite the recent announcement that Arkansas Academic Challenge Scholarships for freshmen will be reduced beginning in fall 2013.

The move will make what is already the most affordable tuition and fees structure among the five largest universities in Arkansas an even better value for incoming Arkansas Tech freshmen.

“Any time that we can remove financial barriers to higher education for the people of Arkansas, it is the morally correct thing to do,” said Arkansas Tech President Dr. Robert C. Brown. “Our state has set a goal of increasing the percentage of our adult population that holds a baccalaureate degree.
