New Middle School Resource Officer

New Middle School Resource Officer

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark---Russellville Middle School will have a Resource Officer on campus for the first time this year.  Russellville Police Officer, Chris Isbell, will begin his duties next week.

While the obvious reason for a police officer on the premises is to increase security, Officer Isbell and Russellville Police Public Information Officer Drew Latch emphasize other duties as well.  These include developing mentoring programs and working with troubled students.

They also hope that the presence of the police officer will serve to improve relations with the students by putting a friendly, human face to the uniform.
