Improvements to HWY 7 require overnight lane closures in Dover

LITTLE ROCK (AHTD) – Improvements to Highway 7 will require overnight lane closures in Dover, according to Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) officials.

The contractor crews will be resurfacing Highway 7. The work will extend 2.9 miles north of Linker Creek, located just south of Dover. The work will reduce northbound and southbound traffic to one lane.

The overnight lane closures will be Wednesday, September 24th through Wednesday, October 15th, between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., each night, excluding Sundays, weather permitting. Traffic will be controlled using flaggers and warning signs. This work had been scheduled to be complete by September 19th, but extra time is needed.

Blackstone Construction, LLC was awarded the contract at $777,770.78.

Motorists should exercise caution when approaching and traveling through all highway work zones. Additional travel information can be found at IDriveArkansas.com or ArkansasHighways.com. You can also follow us on Twitter @AHTD.
